TRAINING DIVISION

ONLINE TRAINING

 

BVFPD Personnel are required to complete the following courses, appropriate to their given rank utilizing FEMA Independent Study or National Fire Academy (NFA) Online Training.

 

PROCEDURE

 

Assigned personnel are expected to complete the assigned training, in addition to department certification training, PRIOR to advancement of next rank. Copies of all certificates will be maintained in personnel and training file. Personnel are expected to complete a minimum of six courses per year, in addition to regular and special training. Note that some courses may be prerequisites for certification through California State Fire Training or other certification agencies. Personnel in existing ranks are expected to complete all training below their rank as a condition of assignment. In these instances, more than six courses per year may be necessary to maintain rank.
